When do you fly?

We fly 7 days a week. Flights launch in the morning at sunrise and evening flights occur 2 hours before sunset. Flights normally last 45 minutes to one hour.

Why fly only in the morning/evening?

The winds are the calmest at these times of the day. To achieve a calm and safe flight we prefer winds less than 8mph.

Is ballooning dangerous?

Crossing a street is inherently dangerous. In ballooning, safety is always our governing factor. The pilot makes the final decision on whether to fly. He uses his years of aviation experience and a detailed weather briefing to make that decision. Ballooning is safer than your daily trip in a car.

Where do we fly from?

We have several launch sites in the Lehigh Valley and Western NJ. We will try to pick a site convenient to you.

Where will we fly?

Again, the winds govern our direction of flight. Our flights are generally over rolling farm land, area lakes or the Delaware River.

Where will we land?

As we travel with the wind, we cannot state a definite landing spot prior to launch. We are followed by our chase vehicle and crew and after landing, they will return us to our launch site and your car.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. On chilly mornings when the ground is covered in dew, water proof shoes are appropriate. We don't fly high enough to experience colder temperatures so plan on the same temperature as on the ground.

Is my fear of heights a problem?

Ballooning is much different than standing on a ladder or high building. The basket sides are high enough to give a feeling of security. Everyone who has expressed a fear of heights before the flight says they became so distracted by the sheer beauty and thrill of flying that they never had any fear.

Can I bring a camera?

Absolutely. Try to have a wrist or neck strap available. Ballooning is the ultimate photographic opportunity.

How many people do you carry?

Our balloon is designed for 5 people- the pilot and 4 passengers. If anyone weighs more than 230 pounds, please alert us so we can make adjustments. If you have more than 4 in your party, we can arrange for group flights with additional balloons.

How about children?

We limit our younger passengers to 10 years of age. We have found that the loud noise of the burners and the inability to see clearly from the basket do not make for an enjoyable flight for these young flyers.
